Diversity & Equal Opportunities Policy

Company Policy

As a company, we are committed to recognising diversity and taking action to secure fair and equal treatment in all aspects of employment and service provision.

To this end Goodwillie & Corcoran seeks to ensure that:

  • All company policies reflect this commitment;

  • All staff understand, value and welcome diversity;

  • Staff are provided with appropriate induction and training to enable them to meet this commitment; and,

  • The company undertakes regular monitoring and review of its employment practices.

In line with this policy, it expects all staff to:

  • Treat everybody they come into contact with during the course of their employment with respect, consideration and without prejudice;

  • Promote the same levels of behaviour on the part of their colleagues; and,

  • Recognise their responsibility for tackling and preventing discrimination.

To secure this, all managers are expected to:

  • Demonstrate and promote considerate and fair behaviour;

  • Foster a supportive working environment;

  • Take firm action to ensure that unacceptable behaviour is eradicated;

  • Contribute to the further development of the company's equal opportunities policy; and,

  • Contribute to the regular monitoring process.

As partners in the company, we will:

  • Take responsibility for developing and maintaining the diversity and equal opportunities policy;

  • Lead by example;

  • Incorporate equal opportunities monitoring into the normal planning cycle and take action as appropriate.

We will not therefore tolerate abuse, harassment or discrimination on the grounds of gender, marital status, race, colour, nationality, ethnicity, disability, age, religion, sexual orientation, working patterns or trade union membership. All employees must adhere to these precepts in their dealing with other employees, job applicants, clients and their service users. Failure to do so will lead to disciplinary action which may result in dismissal.
